font-family: "brandon text" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Upon reading the synopsis of The Sunlight Pilgrims by Jenni Fagan, I was excited to dive in, and read the rest. I was not aware, most likely to my own ignorance and lack of research, that this was a follow up of another book the author had written. So, when I opened to page one and began to read, I was a bit thrown off and found it hard to get into the book. While the book was pretty well written, I just wasn't able to really immerse myself into any of it. I didn't really relate with any of the characters, and I didnt really want to imagine myself in the world that they were in. Oh, and I wasn't a big fan of the constant profanity used.

I will say that it was refreshing in that the author captured some of what might actually happen in a huge worldwide crisis like this: It wasn't all about the main characters saving the world in one fell swoop after tragedy has hit, but instead focused on what a day in, day out life would look like when tragedy strikes.
font-family: "brandon text" , sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">I wouldn't recommend this book to my friends. Mostly because the profanity just isn't really necessary in my world. It really takes away from the story and the plot. But that's just my opinion. To each their own.
